And so it begins! The 2021 CrossFit season has started. I have been waiting for the open to begin since January 1st. On Thursday night, I watched, in anticipation, for Dave Castro to announce the first workout. Wall walks and double unders. At first, I wasn’t too excited to see wall walks. I wanted a barbell or dumbbells. But watching Krisi Eramo-O’Connell and Kari Pearce attack this workout, my excitement quickly came back.

I completed 21.1 on Friday afternoon. My score was 222 reps, so I got 13 wall walks out of the 15. My goal was to get into the round of 15. In round 6, I started to feel the burn. There were moments where it was a struggle trying to complete the rep. I got two no reps and made sure I focused on hitting the standards for every rep. Over all, it was a really fun workout and I enjoyed it,
Looking back, I wish I would not have rested so much in between wall walks. I could have completed the last 2 reps and got to the double unders. There was one point where I rested ~20 seconds. I should have limited all rest to 7-10 seconds. Part of me thought about re-doing it but I will just take it as a lesson learned.
I am proud of my performance and I cannot wait to see what 21.2 will be.
